Mr.Andrea and me meet for a DBA afternoon playing IV,61 Italian Condotta 1320AD-1495AD vs. IV,79 Later Swiss 1400AD-1522AD.
I took for granted that taktical ideas were unabled due to my unlucky dice. But this time I was a lucky Condotta. My idea was to keep the swiss flanks occupied and prevent the construction of a solid wall of pikes. So my cavalry provoke the Swiss command to turn to my right and my blades blocked the left hill.
Then after some moves and no real action I moved forward with my small pike section and some Crossbowmen to attack the Swiss general. To support my main attack I turned away with my knights and try to bring them in the center.
Normally this was the time when everything went wrong with my dice and Mr.Andrea is going to win. But this time he could not kill my knights with his artillery and I can continue with my attack at his center.
Finally I killed one pike with my crossbowmen and destroy his two other units inkl. his general with my pikes and knights. Victory!
I also tried to destroy his artillery but that failed. On the other hand my head-on attack did not result in the dead of my general.
Was a funny afternoon and something different, because normally I am the designated looser.
