Vikings, Basesize around 5x5 cm, 1-3 Figures and no Conversions.

You have a week to choose your winner. Once again gentlemen take your places and may the best painter win.

This was the first time Florian is in a duel, he was up against Maurice.
And the winner is... Florian with his entry "Nordic Bowling"
I must say, a funny title and a splendit vignette, like the setting.
So congratulations to Florian!
But also Muarice his entry was a big suprise, and worth a compliment!
Real good setup, and fun to watch.

Wouldn't have mind getting a few more votes after all that work... Dunno why people didn't like it...

The base is a piece of cardboard, the house is a little piece of styrofoam, cut into shape, cut a door from balsa wood, a roof from balsa wood, and then covered the 4 sides of the styrofoam with plaster/wall filler. Then I glued small strips of balsa wood to the front to create the timberwork look, and finally I took some sisal rope, cut it into 5cm pieces, unraveled the pieces glued all the strings to the roof. Then I painted the whole thing

I was thinking the same thing as Rich. Now that Maurice told all his secrets about the building, I would like to know the secrets about Florian's work to.

Both are very contributions, and it was a hard choice to pick one out. So congrats to both of you

The Stairs are Part of an 1/72 Building from Fantasy-Geländemodelle.de
They belong to an French Farmhouse. Because i build an Ruin the Stairs were left and so i used them for the competition.

For those who want to build Stairs like these for theyr own:
Get some Styrodur or Styrofoam, cut it to a square in the Sice you want. Then draw the Stepshape onto the Square and cut them of. Use Balsawood to create the wood on the Steps.
The Wallsection can be made by using a Pen. Just scratch irregular stoneshapes into the Styrodur. Once scatched into the Foam it will last just like you had engraved it.
If you want apply some gypsom to create some plaster.
That´s all..... and even if i had no precasted Steps i would do so! ^^

The most difficult Part in this piece was to bring on the Barrel to the Stairs. Because of the angle there was only a very small surface under the Barrel to apply glue. So i used the "kicking" Viking as a additional fixingpoint. His raised Foot is glued to the Barrel, so he holds it into Position.
