Wow what a lot of voters, but it looked like they all had the same choice.
The winner of this duel is PhilC (Phil) with his first duel here on Bennosfiguresforum.
What a way to start dueling, and this must taste like more.
So congratulations to Phil, you done a great job.
When I got both entries, I tough this is the winner.
You organized this duel against my good friend Peter, who mailed me he will be punished hard on this one.
But Peter knows it's for fun, so thanks to you also big looser

Well it was fun to see another duel, not only the mr.X duels.
Talking about mr. X, there are still some months left, so mail me at bfduel@gmail.com if you want to participate in this monthly duel!
(I had some storage problems with this mailbox, so hope all mails went well  )

Thanks for dueling, now celebrate Phil!
Cheers

Very interesting to see a duel that is not against a Mr.X. Congrats to PhilC who created a feeling of dust on the mummy. Peter did a great job as well but this time it was not enough. But since he is an old duelling war horse he will come back and win again!

Thank you very much. I'm very, very far from a competitor, it was my first duel, or any form of competition so far, and I agreed only because Peter asked me - he's the man who organized everything ! Thank you very much Peter.

Peter's entry was very good, vibrant and colourful . and the face of the Mummy is very nicely done.

But, I've been watching the Egyptian Archaeologists on the National Geographic channel and the first thought I had when viewing this duel was that the wood on the back of Phil's shield looked EXACTLY like wood that has been buried in the Egyptian sands for thousands of years. The Mummy wrappings look equally authentic and the colour scheme seemed suitably Egyptian so Phil got my vote.

After I voted I noticed something on Phil's entry that didn't convince me; the front of the shield looks like it's made of faience , which would be odd.

Nice duel. I wish there are more duels that aren't monthly duels with Mr.X.
Thank you both and congratulations to PhilC.

The colorful mummy really looks fierce, especially the red eyes. But for me, too, it was the very Egyptian-like color scheme of Phil's entry that made it my clear favorite.

About the faience shield: Well, if we can accept the idea of a cursed mummy running around and chasing people with a big battle-axe, I think we can also accept the idea of a shield made of blue faience. But after all, it also could be simply blue paint containing the famous Egyptian Blue pigment...

Did I really loose this one? Recount the votes please. There must have been made a mistake somewhere!

Without joking, Phil did an excellent job on his mummy and he is the well deserved winner of this duel. Congrats Phil!

I knew that I would loose this duel before it started. For some reason I was fighting with this figure while I was painting it. I even restarted but also then I wasn't happy with the result. Fact is it was hard to see what was laundry and what not. ;-)

Thanks to brave ones who voted for me! :-D

PS: this duel came because Phil and I were allways making jokes about the mummies. And I promised when I had a set or sprue of them we should do a duel. And Phil had the honour to choose the figure! ;-)

I spare my comments on the figures, painting styles, etc. All has been said above. What I liked it most: a non-Mr.X duel! More please!
P.s.: Peter, two votes! Who is your secret Santa?

Thanks for dueling guys! What fun.

I really liked Peter's entry but the subdued colors and sharper details on PhilC's entry won me over.

I agree that non-Mr. X duels are extremely welcome. Let's keep 'em coming.

All duels are always welcome, independently of their type, so go on with them.

And congratulations for both duelers as both works are remarkable and meritory.
