Since my attic apartment, at least in the upper area, is not suitable for living or model building, due these very Hot Summer, I started something small. This also works at the kitchen/living room table... and it remains a unique excursion into the military theme. Just because I'm particularly fascinated by LRDG and SAS, only the British can invade with cobbled together civilian pickups, drive across the desert and attack airfields.
it all began a few years before, on one of our Exhibitions. I bought the Dragon Chevy 3 Times and the Hauler Whell- and Etchsets. Also the Blackdog Resinsets.Most of you know what was comming, i build the big "Mille Miglia 1931" Dio, and the "Avus 1937" , the Beach Dio and and...
Now i see the Dogfightworkshop Chevy WA in perfect 3D Print....and so the next desaster goes on...
The first Pic ist the Logoplate of the famous LRDG, i dont need to write a word about the Quality of the Kit, the Pics tell you all.


















And then i found in my Stash 3 Italerie "AS42 Sahariana", so i have more Ideas and more to buy...
Such as the GB Modelli Autoofficina, the Mobiler Workshopor the OKB Grigorov Etchings for the AS42 and the Guns.





Also in my Stash, the Italerie North African House, and 2 Kits from ACE. The German Kfz 4 is , the Fiat 508 Colonialae is one of their better Ones.











I try my Best, but ACE has so much tiny Parts ,bad Moldlines, very big Sprueconnections ( in some Cases i ask me is this the Sprue or the Part ? )way to thick Plastic ( see the Engine Hood ) i could not get it better.







And for my Idea of the Saharien coming back from a Patrol, i build the IBG Carro Armato. This kit has the Option of open Doors. So i ordered the Syndicate.com supplied 3D printing detail set and since the Better is the Enemy of the Good, also the Suspension and tracks. I build with Scrapparts a basic Interior , so you not look in a empy Hull. The Gunbreach ist fully Scratch, with different Evergreenprofiles, the Kit MG alongside and as Elevation a Chassispart with Handwheel from Esci.

A promising start for a very interesting new project, Challenger77. What amazes me most is the patience you must have had to isolate all the parts of the 3D printed Chevrolet LRDG. Once that's done, I think the hardest part is done, hahaha.

I'll be following this work with great interest, keep up the good work!

Well its only a break filler project, due the Heat in my Workspace, i cannot really continue with my Racing Dioramas. As i wrote i live in a Maisonette Apartment , direct under the Roof, i have from Sunrise to Sundown full Sunshine and so and on the Second Floor is my Workspave. I have around 34-38 Degrees celsius So i think i build something in small Scale that i can make in the Living Room where its a bit cooler.. And then it was as always....its going to be bigger then planned....ggg

Hello Santi, as always Thank You ! Yes the 3d Print would be interessting...but never seen such Details on a braillescaleKit...even the Vickes K machine gun muzzles are Hollow !

Hi Peter, well i mean the Scale....my Projects always gett bigger then planned.....its a running Joke in the IPMS Austria.
For this Project i think of 4 smaller Dioramas , 2 for the LRDG and 2 for the Italians.

Of Couse, its from a new Company from Poland called dogfightworkshop.pl they have also a FB Account https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id ... cale=de_DE
They make some interessting Kits, all in 3D Print. And in different Scales. The Hompage don't show all the Products . Best Info is given via the FB Site. I have ordered my 2 Copies with mail.Price was about 80.-€ with Delivery
It is Resinprint, absolutly smooth , very Detailed, has the Choice of different Wheels, Dunlop or Goodyear, Diverfigure is included. The only Critics, if any, someone must added luggage and loading. But most of us have a big Box with Greeblies n
So the Chevy WA is available in 1/87, 1/72,1/48 and 1/35. And if i understand it right , on Request in other Scales.
I hope they make the Pilotcar Ford F1 V8 to use beside the Chevy WA. These 2 Trucks were the first especially ordered for the LRDG. Replace , due hard use , in 1941/42 Ford CMP 30 CWT. This Trucks were never popular. To heavy, too much of Technical Issues, higher consuption of Fuels and last Driver seat above the Egine. Way too much Heat....They were then replaced by the iconic Chevy 1533 30CW , few smaller 1511 15CWT and Jeeps.

I used to wargame the Western desert extensively in my youth and found it fascinating .

The equipment types, nationalities etc were a constant source of inspiration.

The worst mess to date..the Wing nuts on the hood are extra parts that none of my tweezers hold.... the IBG etched parts, tow hooks, side steps and the emblem in front of the driver are so tiny and soft, they bend just by looking at them the 3D particles from Syndicate are a little better, the Tracks and Wheels are each a component. What is still missing is the Fla Breda MG, the tools, both 3D printed, and of course the lids. Ready for Painting.....and then i go ahead with my Mille Miglia 1955 Dioramas.

Hello on a very rainy saturday i try to build a Mount for the Solothurn Antitank "Riflr" with Crap 3D Supports, remains of some Tankkits, a Evergreen Tube and the Superb Syndicate Solothurn Gun. I cut away the not in Use Backsupport and fiddle around with all those tiny Bits. Please be patient , i've only 2 Bad Photos and very crude Blueprints from different Tabletopgames i think.
