Really superb painting, Bravo!

All these figures look great, but I am particularly taken by the high quality of the HaT 1808-12 infantry; slightly strange sculpting but really brought to life with your painting. I don't think I have seen this set of HaT French infantry look quite as good as yours do here.

I am trying to work out the make of the Chasseurs a Pied command group...officer, drummer and Port Aigle. Can you advise? Likewise, the flags.

Thank you minuteman. I agree the figures are lumpy but among my favorites for ease of painting. For guard chasseurs HaT only come in a few poses and no command figures. I used Zvezda grenadier guards and cut down their bearskins for the officer and porte aigle but they still look too large by comparison. I used a bit of greenstuff to cover the plate on the front of their bonnets. As for the command structure I think what you say is correct but the unit is missing sappers, each company having 2 along with 2 drummers according to Haythornthwaite. I'm certainly no authority.

Eta: Each company carried a flag but I'm not sure what you are asking. One side said Garde Imperiale / L' Empereur Des Francais/ Au 1 Regiment/ Des Chasseurs a Pied and Valeur et Discipline 1 Battalion on the other side. I just printed out generic flags for most units though technically the chasseurs are carrying the grenadier flag from the Zvezda set.

As one of the people who asked for more pics, I am a bit late with replying. I really love this army. And there is nothing to be ashamed of here! Your painting style is really precise and clear.

Besides, I also still have older figures in my collection, painted 10 years ago or so, that are not up to my modern standards. I think that is quite common. Apart from a few demigods that paint a whole army in a short period of time and in a consistent style, I think most of us have armies with units from various stages of their painting careers.

Love how you represented the different cavalry regiments with a standard bearer, trumpeter and officer (that can be added to in time), in the case of the Mamelukes and Cuirassiers, at least. Plus a delightful choice of uniforms and troop types to paint, beautifully put together and Murat is, of course, the icing on the cake!
Can’t wait to see more.
