My Crimean War Project

I thought I would post these pictures in the Work in Progress area even though they were actually taken last week when I had a short wargame with my gaming buddy Brian. We were concentrating on learning a new set of rules and I didn't take enough pictures for a game report. This project has been in my mind to do since the late 1980's and I have finally after many starts and stops have enough stuff to start getting onto the gaming table. So here they are.

Most of the Russians are Strelets with a few Imex gunners and one unit of ESCI infantry.
The British are a mix with the cavalry and guns being Strelets and the infantry warmed over Airfix and the like British Napoleonic. Still have more to do but at least they are getting on the gaming table.

Well I think this battle just looks fantastic! I don't play Napoleonics but I can tell this is a very impressive set up!

A mass of troops well painted and converted by the look of things.

How cool to have complete armies to play a different period than most. Very nicely painted and based too. My compliments Paul. Maybe one side or the other will win this war instead of both sides losing.

This all looks very good indeed,.... even if you call it a 'work in progress' ! I very much like the blocks of Russian infantry with their impressive regimental standards. Inspiring stuff !
