This is a slow project so probably will take a while. Basing will not be finished until we can travel again. I plan to use real sand from Thrace (Bulgaria) and rocks for decorating the bases and terrain pieces.

As an enemy for this army. By the time i have finished these i probably have enough leftovers for a Macedonian and Greek army. Their natural enemies acording to the rules.

Other options are gauls or romans i have those also laying around.

And if i can get my wife to play DBA probably a germanic Saxon/Frisian or Batavian army so we can both play with our ancesters.

As for other opponents, your welcome to try (at FIGZ for example) i’m new to DBA aswel so we might be evenly matched in terms op experiance

I have a Polybian Roman Army, so this might be possible. Let's hope that the next FIGZ can happen free from Corona!

Great army! Nice paint job. I have that in the drawer as well and it will stay there for long I guess. I am finishing and Hittite army now, and then continue with biblical period, maybe early Hebrew.
Good to see another DBA player. Yes, let's hope a corona-free FIGZ can happen soon. It will be a nice occasion for some DBA battles.

Hello Erik-Jan,

I love to see that also you started painting ancient figurines. And its for gaming! :yeah:

Our gaming group from Almere/Amsterdam started with DBA, then DBM and now DBMM for ancient Greek, Macedonian and Roman periods.

I am getting curious in what part of Nederlands you live.

I live near Emmen in Drenthe (the Northern part of the Netherlands.)

My first game of DBA will probably at FIGZ, EME or some other convention, once i finnish this army, which will still take a lot of time. (The patterns look cool but are a lot of work to paint (not complaning, i love painting these figures))

And they still need basing aswell ofcourse. So it will be a while before i’ll be able to play DBA.

I also plan on using sand and rocks from Bulgaria (Thrace) for decorating the bases, so that to will not be finnished before the summer.

Glad you guys enjoy the pictures, there will be more in the future. Including the full army, once it’s completed.

After that, probably a macedonian, paionian, ilirian, greek, roman and or a celtic army to face them in battle
