I am lagging behind. The Prussian are approaching and I'll be soon outnumbered. History will repeat itself!

This will be a great inspiration for me as I paint my Prussians! Only painted Prince August's before and that was some time (about 30 years) ago

Another undead topic! After month in which I had no time and also no mood to paint something, I can show another step forward in my project.

Here you see the 4th Westphalian Landwehr Regiment, 4th Brigade, 1 Corps.

I am not completly content with the groundwork. I tried something different (washing), which did not came out as I wished.

The figures are from Art Miniaturen. I like them because they have some individual poses, giving the waiting men a lot of character.

Next unit is another Line Infantry Regiment to complete my 3rd Brigade. I hope to finish them quicker...

Thanks for looking!

Nice bunch of handsomes.

Mr Crynns got me into this way business.

I use brown umber and it is definitely a case of less is more.

If we are not careful the ink blobs every facial detail out. I found that a small brush helps remove any unwanted surplus.

It’s brilliant for highlighting faces and fingers in my opinion.

Best wishes,

Chris

They look good Jan. Grizzled veterans look. I, too, favor the lack of uniformity of poses. Nice work.

Good work Jan. On first photo groundwork doesn't look bad at all.
On the last one I think that flashlight "killed" it :)

The year starts with another progress in this topic. I managed to paint the 7th Line Infantry Regiment (2nd West Prussian).

The figures are from HäT with some Strelets. I like the characters in the set "002 Russian and Prussian Chiefs of Staff". That is why I included them in this unit in the firefight.

The second unit is the other Batallion of Silesian Rifles in the First Corps. They are part of the 1.Brigade.

With the 7th Regiment I have nearly finished the 3.Brigade. Only the artillery is missing. So this is the next mission. Unfortunately there is only the very mediocre set of Prussian artillery from HäT. In 2022 a set of the beginning of the golden age of 1/72 figures. I hope another producer will start to deal with this topic in the near future...

Stay tuned, to be continued... ;-)

That's a very fine army you are building there, MABO.
The inclusion of the Streletz command figures is a nice addition in the display.
Concerning the artillery: why not using those of Art Miniaturen? They have some foot artillery too now.
I will follow this tread with great interest.
Thank you for sharing,
Patrick

I have the artillery sets already, but as far as I understood, they wear a special uniform from the time of the beginning of the wars of liberation 1813. For Waterloo I need the regular uniform. But I will have a look. I need 6 (or so) foot artillery pieces. So still lots to do... as CM Dodson would say.
