Airfix 1/76 buildings re-discovered

Posted by Minuteman on 29 Jan 2021, 17:13

It's always nice to come across something that you had half forgotten about. Rummaging in the stash at the back of my loft this afternoon I uncovered three mint condition Airfix 'classics', which I may now press into use. I probably bought these 20+ years ago and the price labels are still on the boxes: the Waterloo farmhouse is £7.99 and the other two are £5.99 each.

I also have a built Waterloo farmhouse which I will now 'recover' and re-work, completing the empty doors and windows that i was too lazy to model properly when I build this back in 1980.

Happy days.

Nice find indeed.

I guess that the "Forward Command Post" is without the base?

Correct, no base with the Forward Command Post kit...although I do have another (older?) one which is built and has the base.

Great, thanks Harry! I had forgotten about Amera, although I also have some of these mouldings, purchased about the time that I procured the Airfix buildings. I really should be using this stuff...... :-)

And they are nice people as well. Have met them a couple of times at shows, always willing to talk and full of good ideas.

Certainly it's a very interesting website. Thank you also from me, Harry. :yeah:

And good luck with your buildings project, Minuteman. It looks very promising. I also have the Waterloo Farmhouse and it's a nice model. ;-)

Best regards.

Santi.
