Hello all,

What is the best way to fill gaps and holes on metal models and figures?

It may not be the "best" way but I've used Vallejo plastic putty to fill gaps in metal figures with no issues. What I like is you can thin it down and apply several coats to fill in difficult spot. Hope that helps.

I think you can use any putty you will find. I also worked with liquid green stuff from Games Workshop.

This is what they use for metal on cars. But it smells.

Depends on the gaps you have to fill I think. ;-)

Using the Valejo plastic putty I just replaced the missing half of a sword sheath where the metal didn't get in to every part of the mold leaving a big gap. It remains semi-soft for days/weeks but can be shaped after that. I'm happy with how it came out cutting off the excess with a blade then following up with sanding sticks.
