Undercoating resin

Posted by Ochoin on 22 Sep 2020, 00:11

Having just purchased a pile of resin scenery, I need a few tips on painting.

I know you're supposed to wash it in warm, soapy water to get rid of mould release residue.

Do you undercoat it? Top coat it with varnish?

Any other tips are welcome.

I undercoat every miniatures by black spraypaint nowadays, and I've skipped the soap cleaning in some instances and I've never had problems. I think there's enough paint in a spray that it adheres. I just spray with black undercoat and it's like any other mini, working with minis from Forgeworld, Kingdom Death, random resin minis from online.
