For me, as for many others, Crisis was always the big event with lots of dealers from the UK coming across the Channel, so you could see lots of great offers with your own eyes. Thanks to Brexit, this is no longer worthwhile, so Crisis needed a new start in a smaller hall. But the concept has remained the same, of course. Here's an impression of the premises.

The first surprise was the actor who played a Warhammer character, who was back again. There is a photo of my son, who was still small at the time, with him, which is already several years old. But the armour still fits.

Two other reenactors were also present, demonstrating the Belgian army of the First World War.

3D printing was, of course, a big topic when it came to the figures. It's pretty much the norm now. There's always something new to see and printers always at work to admire.

28 mm was the predominant scale. Andrea and I actually wanted to buy the new sets by Frank Ziegler from Hagen Miniaturen, but we didn't realise that the space at the stand was reserved for 28 mm.

The variety of characters at the different stands was incredible.

An old acquaintance was Brother Vinni.

This time, I had pre-ordered a few character figures there, such as the kneeling knight. Actually, I don't want to collect 28mm figures, but I couldn't say no...

I discovered the figures from Stronghold Terrain, a German company. I liked them so much that I bought four characters from them as well. There was even time for a brief but very pleasant conversation.

But there was even the very small scale of 1:144, yes Benno, I know, still very large for you...

And, of course, lots of terrain. For example, GeBoom was there again, delighting many visitors with his stand at https://www.shiftinglands.com. His creations are truly amazing.

I was also drawn to the stand at http://www.wargamezone.com. The buildings and terrain pieces are fantastic and very precise. I had already seen some of them in Normandy.

But of course, the most important thing for us here are these two charming and handsome gentlemen, who work with the 1/72 scale.

But the real eye-catchers were, of course, the many colourful and versatile gaming tables.
Here is a small selection for everyone to look at and enjoy as eye candy.
The table from ‘Alde Garde’, which has also been at FIGZ a few times, is particularly beautiful.

Here now more to see and enjoy...

In addition to the many land battles, whether on Earth or in space, in ancient times or in the future, there were also two very beautiful naval battle settings.

And:

After a few hours, we were really exhausted and started our journey back. It was a great trip with lots to see, even if it was smaller than before. However, we shall see; perhaps I will return next year, and Andrea might come with me...

Btw: I was driving...
